Back in Winnipeg. There have been a few changes that I can see but overall the place is still pretty much the same. It is much, much quieter than Beijing and the weather is also much cooler. Apparently the city had a bit of snow a few days ago but it melted.
I was wondering if I should try to keep an online running journal of this trip. It’s an idea. I did it when I first started this blog but quickly adopted a longer-form approach to writing blog posts or articles. I suppose it doesn’t really matter, more content is good, right? I see that this month (September) is one of the first times in a long time that I’ve been able to post more than once or twice during the month.
Before I left Beijing I started Tweeting #TravellersTip, which are just some things I think others should be or could be aware of when they travel. I’ve started to post a little more about travel in recent weeks with the idea that my experience of living and working and travelling overseas may help someone somewhere. Here’s a look:

You can follow me @stevensirski and I will post more as I go along.
Anyway, debating how long to stay. I don’t like booking my tickets too far in advance because things tend to change. Every time I’ve booked a flight more than a week in advance something’s always changed. And in this era of cheap flying, I don’t understand the reason for paying an airline to change a booking. Why isn’t it automated and why isn’t it free or at least a nominal charge, not exorbitant?
Will go through some old stuff lying around here and see what I dig up. Always fun and a bit emotional to go down memory lane. One thought did pop into my mind: could I set up the drums again?! We’ll see.
